Thoughts on Ferguson

The difference between wanting justice and anarchy seems to be the sentiment in Ferguson right now. The grand jury spent 25 days of reviewing evidence; separating fact from fiction. None of us will know exactly what happened that day between Michael Brown and Darren Wilson, but the people who witnessed it should have been more honest about what they saw. Bob McCulloch, Ferguson prosecutor stated “eye-witnesses to the shooting had inconsistencies with the physical evidence. He added that ‘some were completely refuted by the physical evidence”. It is unfortunate that the pursuit of truth and justice were ignored by individuals who wanted 15 minutes of fame through media and social media.

Michael Brown Sr’s, Attorney: Benjamin Crump called the procedure of the grand jury “a ‘broken process’ and blamed the ‘symbiotic relationship’ of police and prosecutors for failing to do justice.” I don’t understand how the process can be considered an injustice of sorts, when witness stories were not consistent. The real losers to me are individuals who value chaos and anarchy more than they do justice and peace. No good will come out of looting, killing and destroying things within Ferguson.
